LNG

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is natural gas that has been extracted from subsurface reserves and cooled. Natural gas has been used for almost two hundred years for both domestic and business purposes.

By cooling natural gas to minus 162º C, it condenses into liquid form. Its volume is reduced 600 times allowing it to be shipped economically over long distances.

To liquefy natural gas, all its impurities must be removed. LNG is colourless, odourless, non-corrosive and non-toxic.

When regasified in a receiving terminal, LNG becomes a very clean and reliable natural gassource to meet consumers’ growing need for low-emission energy.
